Rules and Regulations

 

Rank: With the exception of U.S. and C.S., command staffs, medical staff, and living history staff, no re-enactor may have rank higher than Colonel.

Parking:  Re-enactor parking is available on the north side of the track.  No vehicles of any type shall be allowed in encampments after 7:30am Saturday.

Amenities:  Straw, hay and firewood will be provided.  Water will be provided for cavalry.  Ice can be purchased at the concession stand.

Facilities:  Modern restrooms and showers are located on the grounds.  There will be port-a-let stations spread across the grounds.  Check the map for water supply.

General Safety:  Parents are responsible for their children’s safety and actions.  Please Report all emergency medical assistance to an Ambassador Member.  (The staff in the orange shirt.).  If you see an unsafe situation report it immediately to the nearest authority.  No pets are allowed.  All modern items shall be hidden during the times of the events.  There will be a radio in the U.S. and C.S. camps to contact help in a case of an emergency.

All artillery shall be inspected by an appointed safety officer before discharge of the piece is allowed.

All horses admitted to the encampment must provide a Negative Cugins Test, EIA sufficiently recent to satisfy Ohio State law.  Without such test the horse will not be permitted to enter the park.

General rules:  No alcoholic beverages allowed. There will be lights out at 11:00 pm each night.  All cavalry shall clean up after the horses at their camp (piles OK).

Bounties:  Bounties will be mailed October 7, 2010 for artillery only.  $150.00 will be paid to the first 6 U.S. and 6 C.S. artillery.  All other re-enactors will be paid on site.  $25.00 per horse for the first 25 U.S. and 25 C.S. cavalry.  A powder bounty for the first 200 U.S. and 200 C.S. infantry.  All artillery must participate in the night fire or no bounty shall be paid, proof of insurance is required.  Infantry must participate in the battle on Saturday and Sunday to earn bounty.

Bounty for infantry will be in the form of a memorable item from the Fort.  Pricing for other items, such as ice, has NOT been determined.  No pricing, other than that advertised by the Fort Recovery Ambassadors, is valid.  All pricing subject to change without notice.
